I LOVE Australis...

I own a plethora of makeup - it's true - you should see my makeup drawer it is STUFFED full of makeup! I love makeup and beauty treatments because they help you feel amazing, beautiful and they are so much fun to experiment and play with. I have tried many different brands, and will often try new products that come on the market.

There are a few brands that I use often but one brand that I LOVE, it is my absolute favourite - Australis Cosmetics. There are many reasons that I love this brand, particularly they are such an honest brand, they are completely Australian and make high end, high finish, beautiful products. The product description is always exact to what the product actually does and the look it achieves. They are also ethically conscious and do not test on animals.

Australis are affordable and a great deal. It is rare that a product is over $20. They also offer a discount program for students {a MASSIVE discount at 25% off}, if you are a student make sure you head to Australis' UNIDAYS for more. There are often also amazing sales at Priceline keep an eye out for those too!

They are across all social mediums including Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter and Youtube. Unlike some brands they actually respond to comments posted by followers, which makes them so much more accessible and a brand consumers can bond and relate to.

Some of my favourite products include - the Curve Ink Eyeliner which provides amazing lines and is so easy to handle with its ergonomically shaped handle {For the Style Seeking Girl wrote a review on this product in 5 Favourite Beauty Products}

The Voluptulash Mascara for intensely curled and high volume lashes

My favourite blusher also comes from Australis - it is called Paparazzi Perfect High Definition Blush which is a blended blush compact with different tones (not sectioned), the ones I use is called 'Screen Siren'.

In a post that will go live this weekend, I will review some products sent to me by the Australis Cosmetics team to trial.
Do you love this brand? If so, what do you love about it or it's products?

Here are some looks I created using Australis products

Three Essential Make-up Items Kept Close

Like most girls, I always have a few items left in my handbag "just in case". Often they are anything from moisturiser, facial wipes, eyeshadow, clear or glitter nail polish, nail file, eyeliner and foundation.

Whilst looking at a post on Lauren Conrad's website about the three items she makes sure are always in her handbag, I was inspired to think about what mine would be. The three items I would pick as three essential items to keep close (particularly for quick fix-ups, mini makeovers or in situations where you get a last minute invite and need a major touch-up) are concealor, lipgloss and mascara. Below I have included a reason why these are my picks and how they can be used as substitutes for other make-up items.

*Concealor- For blemishes, dark circles if I am in a rush in the morning or need a touch up. But as the concealor I keep in my bag is a stick, if spread thin it can also be used as a back up to foundation.

*Lipgloss- I prefer light or hot pink. Keeps lips smooth and shiny- you never know who is falling in love with your smile! Also if pressed it can be used as a gel blush to add colour over cheeks, put over concealor on eyelids or lips for a matte effect creating an eyeshadow gel (looks especially good if the gloss is shiny or has flecks of glitter).

*Mascara- Essential for 'awake' eyes and to make sure my long eyelashes are nice and curled. Also, if I don't have my trusty eyebrow brush (which is one of my favourite beauty items) a mascara wand makes a good back up.

Happy Styling,
Kooklah Xx

building inner confidence

I love the saying "Always make an effort as you never know who you will meet". I think it provides a sense of hope but also motivation ... I know on difficult days I always feel better after abit of time focusing on me. Whether it's my makeup routine, styling my hair or putting together an outfit often I'll have music on as I do so, I leave feeling happy, confident and positive about myself and the day or night out will involve. This confidence or the smile it brings is what makes other people notice. You're more likely to make friends, meet a boy or have a positive impact on someone with this feeling - including creating a positive outlook for yourself. While it isn't solely makeup or clothes that can give you this boost.. I think they definitely help! Below is a list of items that make me feel confident and amazing 99% of the time * a pair of heels or wedges- boost height, highlight legs and make calf muscles stand out * a little black dress (lbd) -I have one that has a frill out the front and back and falls to just above knee length whilst skimming over problem areas. * my black skinny jeans- they are worn in and so comfortable * feminine underwear - frills, lace, or the new sequin /beaded bra I just bought from Kiss My Button Vintage (kissmybuttonvintage.com or facebook.com/kissmybuttonvintage) providing a secret boost! * a fitted yet not skin tight dress - my current face is a hot pink, v neck dress that falls above the knee, fitted around the bust and waist. Love it. * patterned stockings -define your legs and add a cute, sexy, cheeky feel. * perfume - smell good and other people notice. I love Anna Sui's babydoll, and Sarah Jessica Parker's lovely, the SJP perfume has actually resulted in people telling me how good I smell, long after I can smell sit-in if that doesn't make you feel good, what will? * combing my long eyelashes so they really stand out putting a couple flicks of mascara, instant eyeboost, Flirty eyes! * bronzer or blush, contours face, highlights cheekbones ..blush creates a feminine feel for me where bronzer makes me feel sexy and reminds me of summer * eyeliner -defines eyes * white eyeshadow- blend and the result is eyes that stands out, makes your eyes look bigger * free flowing straight, waved or loosely curled hair One of these or a combination is guaranteed to ensure an inner confidence for me personally, what does that for you?
