Inspire Me Monday...

 I love to do these Monday inspiration posts, they often give me something to mull over for the week or at least something really pretty to look at! I am getting in early for this week, and I have chosen some pictures that have inspired me - culturally, spiritually, with fashion or beauty or make me laugh.

I hope you have a good start to the week! This week I am trying to put into place things I have worked on over the last few days and aim to be inspired by something everyday - little or big, significant or seemingly insignificant. I am also hoping I can blog more regularly! Life keeps getting in the way {"Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans..." John Lennon}

Style to Steal...
This picture is amazing - the class, edge and femininity that it brings through. I am a huge fan of so many aspects and already incorporate some of them in my wardrobe. The tailored blazer {although not white - MUST try!}, the curls, the statement necklace, the talking tee and the black statement bag. I am keen to try them as a combination... amazing for drinks at a bar or for a dressy date.

Giggles...Got...Good...
I love this! The perfect picture to show - or words to say - when you get the 'oh it's just periods, what's the big deal' comments from guy friends/brothers/boyfriends... Plus, when you think about it. It is kind of an amazing thing our bodies do!

A Festival to Wander to...
The Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan, I have never seen snow... so I am amazed by anything to do with snow. I think this looks amazing and really want to find out more about it...

Words of Wisdom
I love this quote. Everyone is human, we all have emotions. What we feel is real, we shouldn't be afraid or embarrassed about our emotions and feelings. If things aren't going well, or if they fall apart, if you fall apart -  own it, use it, learn from it and grow from it. This happened to me recently - but it is ok. I made time for myself, and did things I wanted to do - like catching up with a friend over dinner and wine, went to the movies on my own, spent some moolah on shopping, slept in and took my gorgeous dog for a walk in the sun

Salt in the air, sand in my hair ... Sunglasses on my face
Summer is coming, slowly - the sun is shining, the sky seems to glow and the nights have been getting warmer. Summer is a wonderful season and what better to pair with a pretty summer dress than some rocking shades? Not only do they look good but sunglasses are a great way to Sun Safe. I recently came across Vision Direct Australia, an online store selling glasses and sunglasses from leading designers such as Tiffany and Co, Roberto Cavalli, Police, Burberry, Carrera and Miu Miu. For designer sunglasses I think their prices are pretty affordable, plus there is the added bonus of free shipping and a free lens kit {valued at $30}. As if you needed more incentive, Vision Direct have an amazing project called Buy One, Give One. Keep updated via Vision Direct Australia Facebook for sales or amazing opportunities.

Amazing 'Blonde Havana' glasses from Carrera {remind me of animal print, more colours available}
These Police sunglasses scream summer in the sun and surf to me. I love the aviator shape with sturdy frames. {also available in multiple colours}

Inspire Me Monday ...

I don't know about you but the last couple of weeks have been pretty difficult. I have been holding on to a few items that have me inspired or are just keeping me sane at present! I have used these to form this week's Inspire Me Monday post.

I find sometimes it is important to step back and find comfort, joy, strength or inspiration in something. This week my list includes beauty, fashion, love, words ... what does your's include?

Contour Your Way
Contouring is a wonderful way to highlight cheekbones and the shape of your face. I have been toying in this lately using foundation and illuminising/finishing/bronzing/blush powders. My inspiration? Khloe Kardashian - contouring (or kontouring?) QUEEN. I find Khloe so inspiring in so many ways. She is a great role model for the 'real' woman - curvy, strong, honest and independent.

Back to contouring - creates or highlights angles and is easy once you practice (will do a how-to post in the next day or so! until then a great how to post on Marieee Loves (scroll for contouring section)

All I Want IS... Travel!
Everyone always says that the first overseas trip is when the travel bug hits. I disagree - I have always had the travel bug. I can remember when I was young (as young as four) dreaming of far away places and different countries. As I got older this only increased. I have a list of places that I add to every now and then of destinations to visit and events to experience in them. I am now eleven sleeps away from my next overseas adventure and cannot wait to get on the plane with my best friend and start the adventure! This holiday has come at the right time, I need some space, fun and inspiration.

Words To Live By
There are limited second chances in life, I have made a real effort in the last couple of years to grab the moments that come my way and to make the most of them. Living life to the full at every chance ensures you get the most out of life. Life doesn't wait until you are ready, it rushes in at full force and it is up to you to make it yours. Don't be a wallflower in your own life....

Hairspiration
I recently packet dyed my hair with a brunette Mahogany based hue. I loved it! I had been looking at mahogany hair pictures for a long time deciding if I should take the plunge. I purchased the packet for a pick me up. It was called dark mocha but I love the reddish hue that came out of it... so much so that I will go for this in a permanent colour once I get back from overseas.

Something to Ponder
Recently I was yet again reminded that no one is invincible and that something will happen, to every single one of us at some point in time. My gorgeous Nanna passed away recently and she was a fantastic matriarch for our family. She has taught has many lessons and inspired all of our family greatly. With sixty something years between us, age was never an issue, I could talk to her about anything and everything. She taught us to have faith, hope, express love, have strength, be kind and polite, have respect, give to others and expect nothing everything in return and to live life with no regrets and no hesitations. She has left a remarkable legacy behind. I can feel her love and know it will always be with me... which is so special. Live so that your legacy will be remembered and felt by those you love - and it will comfort them. Your legacy will live forever - make it amazing!

So there you have it - five things that are inspiring the start to my week. What has inspired yours?

Style Seeking Silence

So I have been pretty M.I.A on this blog for the best part of a month. For that I really apologise. I have had some pretty stressing personal things happening and needed to make the time to be with family and help out. Due to this I did not have the time, focus or energy to spend on creating, formatting and publishing posts how I normally would have.

I had to make a decison to forgo little, half-hearted posts as I have really tried to make this blog about quality and not have a heavy emphasis on quantity. I will definitely be amping up my posting as much as I can in the next two weeks as I will be overseas on a holiday next month and will publish posts occasionally during this time but will be mainly living it (and shopping it) up - then reporting back of course!
While I have been absent from publishing here, I kept up regular posting on my instagram feed - if you love this blog and don't already follow or look out for me on instagram - you really should (look for @saregiak and click follow for daily style tidbits, quotes and a look into my life). I have kept up April Style Dare by Fox in Flats and am thoroughly enjoying May's Style Dare - you should really join this style dare, fashion and beauty loving, foxy/sexy/fun-loving community if you: a) love fashion b) want to push your boundaries c) want to add life (or rekindle the life) of your wardrobe. We all try not to buy anything new JUST to complete a dare! The daily prompts make me think outside the box...

So now that I have apologised for my silence - and I hope you are all still reading (I have noticed a good amount of readership filtering through which I really appreciate!) as there have been some exciting things coming our way lately! I have a few projects in the works... more on some of these as they develop in future posts!

As for now?

Here are some posts/things you can expect from For the Style Seeking Girl in the next two weeks:
{in no particular order}
* 5 quick/much needed Travel essentials - beauty and fashion
* Logies wrap up
* Product Reviews - Laura Mercier, Australias, Bite
* 5 of my favourite and go -to beauty products
* Introduction post to Exquisite Jewels for Hire
* How-To Style: Grunge
* How-To Beauty: Winged-Eyeliner

Inspire Me Monday

Today was a both a good and difficult day... a little of the Monday Blues for sure. Today is as good a day as ever to post up what is inspiring and motivating the start to the week...

Hairspiration
I would love to be brave enough and colour my hair this tone one day! One item listed on my Bucket List is to lighten my hair to a kind of blonde, a light caramel/honey such as this would be fantastic!

Love Thy Body
I find Beyonce so inspiring! She is a strong, talented and inspirational woman. A fantastic role model for women and well as younger girls. Especially as she is curvy, a real size who looks fantastic and shines confidence! One of the most beautiful people... ever...

Shoespiration
A stunning pair of shoes makes me smile. I love looking at the design and thinking of the craftmanship that went into making them. These ankle boots with bows are just adorable! Love the blush colour, they are called Caroline and are available from Sole Society ...

Look At Me Eyes...
I absolutely love this beauty look - it has a very classic vibe with a fresh, modern twist. Great idea to contrast the black cat-eye liner with a splash of gold glitter. Make it your own -attempt a different colour! I am excited to try this! Perfect for girls' nights out, dates and events such as weddings

Thoughtspiration
Life is all about the journey. Every single step you take, person you meet, conversation you have, place you go and action you do plays a part in getting you to the person you will be. Creates your story, when we are young we all just want to grow up. But why? We should not rush to the end, enjoy the journey, create a memorable story. Make your life, your story, your very own legacy. The highs, the lows, the greatest and most exciting moments of your life, the challenges and struggles all play a significant part in how you will be remembered. So open the book, grab the pen and start LIVING.

Hope something on this list inspires you... maybe you have your own. What is inspiring your start to the week? Happy end to the Monday. Sarah/Kooklah Xo

Inspire Me Monday

As I start this week - first up for days of work- my mind is completley on my next holiday away, a European adventure with one of my best friends. I have to admit, it is my main focus at the moment, from paying off my holiday, saving and looking into my wardrobe and mentally styling different outfits from a limited amount of items (trying to take the least amount of clothes possible but still have a variety of outfits over 20 something days)... These thoughts are definitely inspiring me and have crept into a few of the pictures I have picked for this week's Inspire Me Monday post..

It's All in the Eyes...
Liz Taylor, her eyes (and brows!) were always made up and fantastic! To make her eyes pop she used violet shadow. A hint? Violet shadow enhances any eye colour, so take the risk and try it! It adds a pop of colour and is a great alternative to a smokey or bronzed eye... My current favourite look!

Wander with me...
There are many things that make the perfect bag to carry throughout the day when you are travelling... a zip section, a partial or full leather strap (chains break if pulled) long enough to fit comfortably across your body plus fit the essentials - wallet, phone, passport, camera, sunglasses, small notebook, water bottle. I thought I had the perfect one for my USA trip but it could have been slightly bigger- didn't fit a notebook or water bottle. I have found one that appears to have these aspects, for Europe - from ASOS

Hairspiration...
Loving this 'do! Would love to rock this at an event, like a wedding..
Bit of a brave and sassy hairstyle! The Faux Mohawk!

My Inspired Kitchen
That time of year when the cooking competition shows take over and I am still completely obsessed with My Kitchen Rules... Too simple to be on the show but I love the idea of a glammed up healthy snack. Homemade apple chips - pieces of apple sprinkled lightly with cinnamon.

Inspire My Philosophy...
I love this piece of advice. I plan on doing just that and making the most of my 20s. To experience, explore, take risks, make mistakes, make magic, learn, laugh and LIVE. To really do things before myself, so that when I settle down I can focus on someone else.

Have a good start to the week everyone! This is going to be a big week on For the Style Seeking Girl! Keep in touch with us on our Facebook Page - for daily updates, tips and fun.

KUSHLA - Product Review

KUSHLA is an Australian online accessories store. They have selected certain pieces of jewellery and accessories that are special and different to any you will have seen before. What I found fantastic about their collection is that there is a very limited number for each item sold. The idea behind this is to create a sense of individuality or uniqueness, don't you love it? There won't be a thousand people with the same item as you!

In 2012 the lovely people of KUSHLA contacted me asking would I take part in their launch, I was excited as this was something new for me, I hadn't had many emails for the blog at that stage and it definitely spurred me on to making a great effort with my blog. At the start of this year, I recieved my first piece of physical mail for the blog, I could touch it, I was so thrilled. It was addressed to my blog - so huge for a girl who started this blog to satisfy herself. I had recieved a package, I opened it to find a letter offering an accessory from their current collection.

The accessory I was given, is called 'All Tied Up Rope Bracelet' ($21.99). As soon as I opened the package I felt something. This piece reminded me of travelling, collecting memories and moments that form the glorious stories you recount when you return home.

What I love about this piece is the collection of charms and various other items that are attached to the rope. There are faux pearls/jewels, a piece of shell, as well as the charms which include a key, horseshoe, heart, bow and enamel tokens. It looks like the small trinkets you could collect at markets and stalls whilst walking the streets of far away destinations.

This piece comes in a variety of colours, as depicted on the site you can wear them woven around your wrist or ankle (layer a couple for a bohemian feel, or take inspiration from my post Hint of Glamour #3 and combine with other bangles and bracelets). Nothing says traveller like rope bracelets that are intriguing and spark memories or questions. Other ways to style this accessory include using it as a key ring, attaching to the strap of your handbag or across body bag (essential when travelling!), tying it in a bow on your suitcase handle - you will easily identify it at baggage claim, attaching it to your travel journal or hanging it by your holiday pictures. This would be a fantastic gift to give someone who is about to depart overseas, they could even add their own charms and trinkets to it!

I hope you enjoy looking through the Kushla website and current collection as much as I have... I am so excited to see the future collections and hope to work with them again some day! Please comment or email me with any comments you have! Especially if you have or do try a piece of the collection. Communicate with them on twitter/instagram via #KUSHLA and @kushlasocial or via the Kushla facebook page.

A chat with my readers..

Hello to anyone reading this post - regulars, readers who occasionally skim this blog and anyone who has just stumbled across it. I love writing and creating my blog posts.

The reason for this post? An apology, I have been out of action lately. I went on a wonderful and intense holiday throughout four major cities in North America (Los Angeles, San Fransisco, Las Vegas and New York City) with Contiki on the Best of Usa tour.
Following this due to some personal events that took place I needed some time out. To regather my thoughts and take some time out for myself. I am still working on that but tonight was the first night I have thought, 'hey, let's write a post'. So here we are. Basically sorry for the abrupt hiatus, but THANKYOU to everyone who kept reading, was very pleased to see the stats when I logged back in.

You guys are amazing! So here is what is coming, what you can expect in the weeks to come from For The Style Seeking Girl :

* Hairstyle review posts
* More Inspire Me Monday and Hint of Glamour posts
* A guest post from me (Kooklah) for another blogger
* A series of posts on women whom I know, and find strong, motivated, creative and stylish in their own way - especially in their respective careers or job positions.
* Some posts inspired and about my trip to the beautiful USA

So please be patient, so many good things on the way!

To finish, I will leave you with a style quote. To 'like' this blog on facebook click here

Your style is influenced by the person you are, what you believe, think or feel. Embrace that and enjoy it. Let your sparkle out... Kooklah Xx

Inspire Me Monday...

Inspire me Monday, because sometimes things can be a little bit too blue...

CURL ME PONY
Love tousled curls and this week I am favouring the curls piled into a high ponytail.
I think the high ponytail works best, it adds some sophistication to the look.
Wear it streamlined (perfect for a wedding) or messy (perfect for a casual weekend)!

Anna Kournikova

DESTINATION UNKNOWN
I've completed my first overseas trip, to four cities in the USA.
I was born with the travel bug, and it is just getting worse. I am very keen to travel.
I am very keen to have a map in my house one day that signifies everywhere I have been.
Next overseas trip? England, France... and mayyybe Ireland/Scotland!

I CAN DO SOME DAMAGE
I love the studs&spikes trend, for a long while I have lusted after a pair.
My pinterest account will back me up! I found a pair I loved in Las Vegas.
'Touchdown' by Chinese Laundry... A friend of mine saw a picture of them on facebook and stated they make him feel like he is in trouble

QUOTE TO LIVE BY
Possibly my favourite quote.
Reminds me, when things are feeling their worst, it will be ok.
Life has a way of sorting things out. I just have to remember to believe that.
And to breathe.

WE ARE FAMILY
You start and end with family.
The show Modern Family is a hilarious take on family in the current day.
I love to watch this with my family as we can all relate to it, especially different characters.
I love my family, no matter the disagreements, conflicts, challenges that life has thrown us. My immediate unit of five is strong, supportive and capable of anything that comes our way.
We will make it through, together. No matter what.

What is inspiring the start to your week? Or what are you looking forward to?

Inspire Me Monday

Some days just need a bit more spark. Something to lift the spirits, keep the mind focused on the plans and dreams yet to come. Give you a secret smile that will have others captivated and wondering what you are thinking about. So here goes, my list of five things that are inspiring me at the start of this week, something to make Monday not-so-blue.

Smelling of daisies...
 I have long wanted to own a bottle of 'Daisy' by Marc Jacobs, one of my friends once bought it a few years ago and I have always loved the smell. It is so fresh, light, girly. Perfect. I finally own it :)

Fashion in Colour...
The last few days I have been drawn to this colour combination (see below) and I crafting an outfit in it. I love the clean, fresh, minimalist and summery feel that using white, gold and turquoise acheives, it is also effortlessly stylish. Makes me feel like I should be sunning on the Greek Islands or sipping Sangria in Italy looking at good-looking Italian men. One of my summer style picks for sure!

Travel Inspiration...
We all know the story of Romeo and Juliet, lovers igniting a war between families, by William Shakespeare. This balcony in Verona, Italy is the balcony used as inspiration for that very story. Due to this, I have always wanted to spend a few days in Verona, looking up to that balcony and imagining Juliet looking down, to see the wall of love letters and to write my own.

A Light Laugh, or Two...
My brother and I are watching Seinfeld, in order. We have seen nearly every episode previously but not in the order they were first screened or released. It has become one of my favourite past-times and we are halfway through (goal is to finish it this year). Kramer-the hilarious, scattered and intriguing neighbour of Jerry is a brilliant creation whose madness sometimes makes your mind marvel.

Shoe-spiration...
I was shopping the other day and found a fabulous pair of shoes at one of my favourite shops ZU. They are called 'Sunrise' -white lace with silver sparkle, 14.5cm heel and 5.5cm platform which elongates my legs. They are beautiful shoes, a work of art. I am considering wearing them in Vegas.

What has inspired the start to your week? Kooklah Xx

Inspire Me Monday...

Hi lovely readers! I love sharing this post of all the things inspiring me at the start of a week.
Sometimes you need something to make Monday not so blue.
Here are five things that have grabbed my interest and are sparking the start of my week....

WANDERLUST- let's go on a journey...
People have always told me that once you go overseas, the travel bug gets you. I already have it... All I can think of are ways to get out of here and go explore another land. And so it is....

Only as old as you feel...
I love this picture below, the two elderly people going about their day, their spirits inside are young, dancing, joyful. Though we get older with time passing on, we can still have a free, fun seeking spirit.

Sparkle* up the Ordinary...
I love some sparkle, and especially if you can add it to a piece from everyday life.

Team Tartan
Ever since I was a little girl with my tartan dress I have loved the pattern. These days I have a much beloved vintage jacket that is tartan and would love to master these nails one day....

A Blast from the Past
Lately I have started to re-watch Veronica Mars, I used to love it when I was a teenager and it first aired. Her quick wit and super sleuthing powers, all mastered whilst in school. Plus the main character's own mystery which drives most waking hours had me hooked.
